Respect for history and culture
The garden, the quarries and the 19th-century cave are part of the island's heritage: treat every corner with care.

Thank you for choosing our villa: we hope you fall in love with Favignana just as we did.
MAE stands above an old tuff quarry on the east side of the island: a garden carved into the rock, a tennis court at the bottom of the quarry and a 19th-century cave.
Favignana is not just sea and coves, but also history, traditions and culture. The old tuff quarries tell an important part of the island's identity, a heritage that we want to preserve and celebrate with MAE.
Our villa is the first step of a bigger project: giving new life to places rich in history, respecting their authenticity and the environment. We believe in slow, mindful travel, made of genuine experiences and a deep connection with the land.

Respect the fragility of the island.
The journey
To reach Favignana, take a hydrofoil (passengers only) or a ferry (passengers + vehicles) from the port of Trapani.
When you leave the airport, take the footpath on the left.
When you leave the airport, take the footpath on the right.
Best to buy your ticket in advance on the Liberty Lines app, especially in summer.
On Google Maps, search for Villa MAE Favignana. If you rent bikes, the rental shop brings your luggage: see Getting around.
Getting around the island
On Favignana people get around by bike, ideally an e-bike.
Out of season a car is the better choice: cheaper and more practical. The island isn't that small, and at night many roads are unpaved and unlit.

Instructions and collection days are on the sheet on the fridge. The evening before, put the whole bin outside the gate, not just the bag, otherwise the cats tear it open. The island's service is very strict.
No smoking indoors. Outside, please use the ashtrays.
Keep them under control, keep them off the beds and clean up after them.
Don't enter areas closed by gates and padlocks, don't go on the roof and don't climb the quarry walls.
Only on the dirt road next to the main gate (the one with the combination padlock), never on the patio.
Switch off air conditioning, lights and appliances when not needed and use water sparingly: in Sicily it is precious.

The island has an ancient history, largely tied to tuna fishing, now over: all that remains are the stories and the former Florio factory, a true gem of industrial archaeology.
